About Capt. Pepe:
Since
Pepe's arrival at the age of 12 from the
tropical island of Isla Mujeres, in the
Yucatan Peninsula, Pepe has dedicated
his life to fishing our local waters. He
has turned his passion for fishing in to
a life time career, and has all the
experience needed to land the big ones.
From reef fishing, to offshore trolling,
Pepe takes advantage of the seasonal
conditions to target his catch.
Above all Capt. Pepe,
believes that fishing should be about
having a good time and enjoying our
waters, so even if you are a novice, or
if you have children with you, he will
take the time to properly instruct
everyone, to ensure that everyone has a
great time .

Pepes Key West Charters Offer:
Key West Offshore fishing
- offers the fisherman the opportunity to seek any
number of fish depending on the time of year. In the
winter there are king mackerel, Blackfin Tuna, and Wahoo
along with sailfish in the deeper waters. The reefs
supply either charter boats or bottom fishermen with
king mackerel, several different species of grouper,
mutton and yellowtail snapper, cero mackerel, porgy,
grunt (a Key West staple) and barracuda - a catch and
release favorite. By April the sail-fishing is ranked
among the world’s best, with the World Championship
Tournament run here at the end of the third week.
As spring and summer
approach the water warms up and the dolphin fishing
becomes a primary target. This also brings the time
when, while trolling for dolphin, the boats-see and the
fortunate ones hook-blue marlin. A well respected and
attended tournament the Drambuie Marlin Tournament is
held toward the end of July.
Wahoo and sailfish are
still in the offering but not as plentiful as in the
earlier months. Seas are generally quite calm and it
gives all anglers a chance to appreciate Key West at
it’s best; warm, sunny and on the water.

The light tackle fishing
(open fishing boats) are now becoming exceedingly
popular with the more serious fishing enthusiasts as
they have the speed and range to extend the fishing
area further; targeting fish as far out as the Dry
Tortugas. The target species are still the same but the
area that can be covered is far greater. They are also
able to work the channels, harbors and back country
areas along with the many wrecks on the Gulf side for
tarpon, permit, sharks and barracuda.
